The PinDrop® Team is excited to announce an all new solar and electrical platform for 2025. After six years of manufacturing solar-powered campers and trying different platforms, the PinDrop® Team has landed on a solid combination of the finest solar equipment, power management, and storage equipment available.

Stress Free Solar - Powering a PinDrop Micro Camper

The last thing an outdoor adventurer wants to worry about is running out of power while in the middle of an epic excursion in a remote, off-grid camping location. And no one visits the great outdoors to listen to the hum and drone of a generator. We've resolved power generation with the Swedish-designed SunFlare XPLOR CIGS panels. These panels mount directly and discretely to the PinDrop® roof, are rated at 180 watts each, and plug directly into the solar ports provided on the roof. Up to two panels can be installed on the roof, and PinDrop provides another port on the tongue box for an additional 150 watt solar suitcase for focused tracking of the sun, in the event you are parked under a shade tree or simply need to top off the battery. In total, every PinDrop® is capable of an impressive 510 watts of solar input into the battery bank.

Highly Efficient CIGS Panels

XPLOR panels feature bypass diodes on each and every cell in their panel. What this means is even if a cell or two is blocked, all other cells in the panel will continue to output. Many other manufacturers' panels will have an entire row of cells go dark if one is blocked, making them much less efficient. This is a critical feature for PinDrops that are equipped with a roof rack loaded with gear. A kayak can block a lot of sun, but as long as the panel is recieving some sunlight, you're guaranteed maximum efficiency.

Top Off With a Solar Suitcase

Sometimes you just want to park under a shade tree, or maybe you don't feel like pulling down the kayaks just yet. For these situations we have a solution for powering a micro camper that allows you to continue charging your battery bank with an impressive amount of juice. SunFlare offers their FX lineup, a folding suitcase-style solar panel that packs a punch: 150 watts. With a generous cord length that conveniently plugs into the side of the PinDrop® tongue box, and props that fold out on the backside, these panels can be aimed directly at the sun, and you can easily move the assembly to track the sun throughout the day. It's a great way to stay topped off, and best yet, the panels fold up and can easily slip underneath the queen-sized mattress in the PinDrop® cabin.

Power Management, Backed by Blue

Managing all the power input from your solar panels is critical. This is why we have paired our XPLOR panels with another innovative company from Sweden, long known for their durable and reliable solutions in the world of solar. Victron manufactures professional grade products for the trades and the PinDrop® Team has found that their products pair best with our solar array. Safety is key, and PinDrop® has designed the electrical system to safely conduct the sun's energy and deliver that to the battery bank in a regulated manner that keeps the battery charged safely with circuit protection throughout. The PinDrop® design utilizes two separate charge controllers to meet the demand of the three solar port options throughout the trailer. This ensures there is safe, regulated energy being delivered to the battery, with no voltage spikes which could damage the battery or electrical components and wiring.

But What About Household Current?

In addition to the charge controllers, PinDrop® also uses the Victron MultiPlus 2000 inverter/charger. Every PinDrop® is wired for 110VAC power, so that even appliances and power tools can be plugged in. PinDrop® offers GFCI-protected receptacles in the tongue box, the cabin, and the galley kitchen, all within arm's reach. These outlets are powered by the MultiPlus, which is rated at 2000 watts so it can handle the toughest demand for the outdoor adventurer. Also, when you are back home from your adventure, this same product acts as a battery charger and maintainer. Simply plug an extension cord into the port provided by PinDrop® on the side of the tongue box, flip a switch and the MultiPlus will bring your battery bank back to full charge in no time, and maintain the battery until you're ready for your next adventure.

Mega Storage for a Micro Camper

The workhorse of the PinDrop® system is the battery bank that needs to store all the energy created throughout the day. The PinDrop® Team has landed on Dakota Lithium for providing a reliable and safe battery which is lightweight compact, and can store massive power. The DL + 12V 320AH is a lithium iron phosphate battery which has a cell design allowing it to store more power in less space, which suits the PinDrop® micro camper just fine. Boasting 320 amp hours of storage capacity, this battery is a champ. Why so much capacity for such a small trailer? The reason is adventuring can be unpredictable, so PinDrops plans for it. Maybe the weather outlook changed for that week long trip you planned and the days are cloudy with minimal charge through your solar panels. Perhaps the week long trip turns into a month long trip, or maybe you forget to turn off the lights. Whatever the reason, PinDrop® has the capacity to see you through. Capacity equals peace of mind. No dim lights, no lack of power for your devices, no warm beer.

Keep Track of the Charge

How do you know the condition of your battery charge? The PinDrop Team has simplified this issue with a simple to read Victron Battery Monitor. This round guage is neatly tucked away inside the cabin and has a simple LCD readout. The PinDrop Team calibrates this monitor and sets it up to read a simple percentage of charge. This makes it simple for you to track how much power you've consumed at the end of the day and allows you to adjust as necessary, either to conserve if needed, or plan for more input if necessary.

Let's Talk About Longevity.

PinDrop® backs its workmanship and product with a no questions asked two year warranty. Many components' warranties extend beyond that. XPLOR panels are warrantied for 25 years. Victron warranties their product for ten years. Dakota Lithium warranties their batteries for eleven years. So you can rest assured that your electrical system will provide years of trouble-free service, powering your outdoor exploration and enhancing your camping experience.

PinDrops are meticulously designed, with details and features unlike other campers on the market. Sure, you can sleep in it, cook from it, store mountain bikes and kayaks on it and even shower from it, but really the PinDrop is a mini power generating station. Energy is harnessed, stored and distributed through over 1,000 linear feet or wiring. You can plug anything into a PinDrop®, you can power anything you need from a PinDrop®. Camping should be stress free, so you can focus on relaxing and connecting with nature. The PinDrop Team has done the hard work of designing a system that won't let you down. So, simply leave all the worries and the noisy generator at home.
