Eco-Cool Ventilation System: The New Revolutionary Design Exclusive to PinDrop®

Updated: Dec 8

One of the most common questions asked about PinDrop®, a fully self contained, solar powered, micro camper, is: "Does your trailer have air conditioning and heat?" The short answer is YES, the long answer requires some explanation about the new revolutionary Eco-Cool Ventilation System exclusive to PinDrop®.

Super Insulation

One of the reasons people are so hung up on the issue of air conditioning is because they've had poor experiences in RV's that are so poorly insulated that they become toaster ovens in the summer sun, and ice boxes in the winter.

The PinDrop® Team has solved this issue from the start by first and foremost super-insulating each PinDrop cabin. This is one the biggest differentiating factors of a PinDrop® compared to other manufacturers and other micro camper brands on the market. These kinds of painstaking details which most consumers can't even see are what makes the difference between the PinDrop® brand and others.

PinDrop has developed a process where each PinDrop model includes a fully incapsulated cabin in a minimum of 2" of closed cell foam, with zero thermal bridging between the steel frame and the cabin walls and roof. This creates a sealed, climate controlled space, and also makes each PinDrop® trailer frame very rugged and incredibly quiet (so quiet, in fact, that you can hear a pin drop). PinDrop® achieves an R-15 rating, which is far greater than standard 2x4 home construction.

Eco-Cool Ventilation System

There's more to staying comfortable than just insulation, and we understand that. As an Arizona-based business, addressing and understanding extreme heat is a priority. Enter the new revolutionary Eco-Cool Ventilation system.

PinDrop® has developed a ducted ventilation system which replaces the standard roof vent found on most RVs and travel trailers. By doing so PinDrop® eliminates any possibilty of a roof leak, and this opens up more real estate on the roof for additional solar panels. This new system has not compromised the amount of insulation in each PinDrop Travel Trailer.

The new design consists of an air register that is mounted above the headboard. This register has dampeners on both the passenger and driver side so each individual occupant can control the airflow on their respective side. There is a fan control switch in the control panel of the interior cabinets which powers the high-efficiency fan located in the tongue box. This fan operates in two directions with five speed settings in each direction. So, in the summer months, one can close the doors and crack open the windows and draw air in through the windows and out through the headboard register, creating a wind tunnel effect that cools the cabin and its occupants down immediately. The high speed setting works great to quickly move air in, the lower settings help keep occupants cool through the night with less fan noise.

Staying Warm, Dry, and Cozy in a MicroCamper

In the winter months, staying warm, dry and cozy is just as convenient. We recommend a 12 volt heating blanket and have found the Ignik Brand to be the best option. With the Ignik heating blanket under your sheets, you can set the heat level where you want it (up to 10 heat settings) and set the duration (1-10 hours). It's nice to preheat the cabin with the blanket, which takes the edge off, but once inside and under covers, you'll want to cut the heat off as body heat alone is typically enough to keep occupants warm throughout the night, even in below freezing temperatures. Here again, the Eco-Cool Ventilation System is a great companion for the winter months. Turn the fan on its lowest setting and with the windows closed and the dampeners open, this innovative design allows air to circulate through the cabin such that it will remove condensation and provide fresh air through the night without removing heat.

Unmatched Design, Features, and Functions

At Pin Drop Travel Trailers, the experienced team is constantly looking for ways to enhance the overall customer experience in the outdoors. The new Eco-Cool Ventilation System is just one more advancement made to the already premium design of this superior teardrop trailer. And the best part is that all of the features and functions of a PinDrop® are fully powered by the sun. Customers can camp in solitude, worry free in an eco-friendly camper that's not only easy on the environment, but is extremely comfortable, convenient and adaptable to suit any adventure needs through all four seasons.
